A Valentine Video

I think it speaks for itself. I’ve got it bad for the Yanks, as in luuuuv.

I know you made Mo your Valentine too, Ana. I hope you don’t mind sharing him with me!

Thanks, wrigleyregular. Happy Valentine’s day to you.

…and a Happy Valentine’s Day to YOU, She-Fan…from me and all your admiring male bloggers. Thankx for getting us thru the off-season and getting geeked up for spring!!
Actually, it would be Happy Ballantine’s Day from me — a tip of the ol’ Yankee cap to a fave old TV sponsor, a BEER…three rings on the can (like a half-Olympics): for Purity, Body, and Flavor…now that’s spells Valentine to fat ol’ guys under a yard of snow! Wonder if they even make that stuff anymore…
And how can ya not love MO? It’s always been so apropos that when MLB decided to retire #42 everywhere, that WE already had the best active wearer, by a mile. Sometimes life has its happy accidents…keep havin’ em!!

Good one, Jane. I share your love for Mariano – he is my favorite Yankee of all time, and that’s saying something.

Happy V-Day Everyone. My husband gave me a small, heart-shaped box of chocolates that it white with baseball stitching – and a card with a glove, bat and baseball field on the cover that says “Let’s get naked and watch a baseball game”. Then on the inside it says “Hey! There’s no baseball in February! And there we are, naked with nothing to do…hmmm…” Too funny. Does he know me or what?

Today’s Newsday has a Spring Training Preview section today – basically the 5 keys are: 1)Taking the fifth (who is going to be the 5th starter?), 2)Outfield shuffle, 3)Now batting (who is going to bat 2nd and 5th), 4)Welcome back, Javier and 5)Stay hungry…there’s a lot more info and it filled in the gap for me for sure. Pitchers and Catchers report tomorrow with the full team to report on 2/20. You got us through the winter, Jane. Thanks soooo much!!!

    Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

I’d like to send a special Valentine wish to trainer Gene Monahan. He is going to miss his first spring training in 48 years due to an illness. I can’t even imagine a Yankee game without him in the dugout!

  5. Jane Heller

You hit the nail on the head, Dave. How can we NOT love Mo? I hope he took good care of himself this winter and will show up in camp feeling healthy and ready to go, as always. Happy Valentine’s Day to you in Snowland.

Diane, your husband is a very cool dude. I love the present and card he gave you. Where on earth did he find them? So perfect for you. And what, may I ask, did you give him? That Newsday supplement sounds great. And you’re welcome for tiding you over until tomorrow. LOL.

Thanks for mentioning Gene Monahan, Melissa. When I read about him on LoHud yesterday I was so upset. I’m still trying to get over Bob Shepherd’s retirement! Hopefully, he’ll get whatever treatment he needs and be back with the team soon. It won’t be the same without him. He’s been such a fixture in that dugout.

    Same to you, Paul.

I wish I could sauce up the She-Fan’s voice, Jeff. It was hell trying to get her to pronounce all those names even semi-correctly. I had to spell Javier Vazquez “Haviyay Vasskez” and it still doesn’t sound right. Happy Valentine’s Day to you and Albert.

I got him a very romantic card and a large bag of Hot Nuts with cajun creole spicing roasted into them. He likes spicy food and so it was perfect. We don’t really buy each other big gifts for V-Day – we have always felt that our feelings for one another are portrayed frequently enough to not have to show them one day out of the year. Okay, enuf said. We are bringing in Italian food for dinner and then we will enjoy the Olympics. The opening night was overdone but there were some special moments as you previously noted. But I do like to watch some of the Olympics and there’s not much else on tonight so we are good to go.

  7. Jane Heller

A large bag of Hot Nuts, Diane? lol!! Well, I hope you guys have a romantic evening. If the Olympics get boring, you have each other. Enjoy!

I’m glad you can appreciate Mo and Jeter even though they wear the pinstripes, Holly. Both are Valentine worthy. Hope you’re having a great day.

Yes, I wished your darling Mitre a Happy Valentine’s Day, Virginia! He’s a Yankee. How could I leave him out! But don’t worry. He’s all yours. 🙂

  8. Jane Heller

Happy Valentine’s Day to you, Cat. We’re about to have baseball back. That’s a pretty good present, right? Can’t wait.

  9. Jane Heller

You broadcasted for Trenton, t1shloney? Then you must have lots of stories about the Yanks. Tell all!

Austin, I will be at that game! Oh, wait. Sorry. I’m seeing Yankees-Astros at Steinbrenner Field on March 16th. Can’t you come to that one too? It would be fun to meet up.

  10. angelsgirl012

lol at Mo’s shout out 😀

You’re poor hubby 😉 But i’m sure he’s amazing enough to be incredibly understanding! And I’m sure i’ll be the same way to my future hubby too hahahaha! Hopefully he’s a baseball fan so he doesnt have to suffer too much.

    Loved the V-day video!!

  11. Jane Heller

My hubby is so used to my “passion” for the Yanks, Mimi. Luckily, he’s a big fan too – just not exactly in the same way. lol.
